An 8-year-old girl penned a heart-wrenching letter to the local council asking why they forgot about her twin brother. Her sweet gesture will bring tears to your eyes!

Little Naomi Gwynne, aged 8, was overjoyed when the South Lanarkshire Council installed a new playground in the local park.

Sadly, her enthusiasm turned to disappointment when she realized her twin brother, Isaac, wasn’t able to use the traditional swings put in place by the local authorities.

Isaac has autism and he doesn’t know to keep his balance and hold on to the ropes of a regular swing.

Naomi took it upon herself to look after her twin brother and wrote a heartfelt letter to the local authorities. She even drew a picture of an appropriate swing that Isaac would have liked.

“Dear park builders, I like the new park but, please, could you make a disabled swing for it? Isaac, my twin brother, is too big for a baby swing and can’t hold on to the bars of the grown up swings. His favorite thing is a swing and we are both sad. Why did you forget about him? I have drawn a swing he would like,” the 8-year-old’s sweet letter read.

Naomi’s mother, Miriam Gwynne, was moved to tears when she read the letter.

“She asked me to spell disabled for her and said she was writing something. She then showed me the letter after she did it. I had not mentioned anything other than commenting to her brother in the park that he was too big for the baby swings. I was very emotional when I read it. To think she cared and noticed and wanted to do something really touched my heart. Her brother cannot speak at all so to think she is looking out for him is amazing,” Naomi’s mother said.

Mrs. Gwynne shared the letter on Twitter, and the local council was immediately prompted into action. Less than a week later, Naomi’s wish was granted and a special swing was installed in the local park.

“When I first saw the swing I cried for ages. I cannot thank the council enough,” Mrs. Gwynne said. “Isaac ran right up to the seat and climbed in right away. Naomi was so excited to show him the swing and give him a push. We have been down three times since and he goes right to the swing every time!”
